Experience Sonoma Valley Wineries

Sonoma Valley Wineries include the sub appellations of Bennett Valley, Sonoma Mountain, and Carneros. The Carneros Appellation is located in the southern end of the Sonoma Valley against the north edge of the San Francisco Bay.

The cool sea breezes allow the grapes to ripen slowly and results in rich full-bodied Pinot Noir and Chardonnays. Some Merlots are grown in the warmer areas of this area.

You find Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot vineyards growing on the floor of the Sonoma Valley where temperatures are warm. Chardonnay and Pinot Noirs thrive in the cooler areas. Spicy Zinfandel is grown on the cooler hillsides.

Sonoma Scenery The long ripening season on the slopes of Sonoma Mountain are perfect for growing premium Cabernet Sauvignons. Chardonnay and Pinot Noir are grown in the sunnier mountain areas.

The Sonoma Valley is a picturesque setting for a getaway. Wine tasting is the favorite activity, but there are lots of other choices for things to do in Sonoma. Options include cooking classes, car racing, vintage aircraft rides, theater, biking, hiking, art galleries, gourmet dining, hot air ballooning, shopping, horseback riding, and spa services.
