If you are looking for a restaurant, San Diego has many wonderful restaurants, but George’s at the Cove is one restaurant you don't want to miss.
The view of the Pacific Ocean from the Outdoor Terrace Bistro is truly magnificent. Time your dinner so that you can watch the sun set as you dine. It can be a spectacular show. This is the best restaurant in San Diego to watch the sunset.
We recently called and made reservations for a window seat. They reserve only half the tables and save the other half for walk-ins. However, if you want a table along the window for the best views, it’s always best to call for reservations.
George’s at the Cove actually has two restaurants and a bar. We prefer the Ocean Terrace Bistro so we can be outside enjoying the ocean breezes, sunshine, and wonderful views. The Bistro is casual whereas their Fine Dining Restaurant is more elegant.
I ordered the fresh Idaho trout, which was very tender and served with wild rice and rock shrimp with lemon vinaigrette. The wild rice had a great texture and taste. Steve enjoyed his Thai inspired fish stew with calamari, clams, mussels, and fish in a curry and coconut milk broth served with jasmine rice.
We watched the sun slowly sink into the Pacific Ocean as we ate. It was the perfect ending to a wonderful day of wine tasting in San Diego.
Steve and I shared the vanilla bean crème brulee with berries and orange shortbread. It had a strong vanilla flavor, which we love.
If you are looking for a restaurant San Diego has many to choose from. We recommend George's at the Cove as the best San Diego restaurant with unbeatable ocean views. Enjoying fine food and a magnificent sunset is a great way to spend an evening.

Directions Traveling North on Interstate 5:
Exit at La Jolla Parkway and head west. This street turns into Torrey Pines Road. Continue for 1 mile. Go right onto Prospect Street for ½ mile. Look for the red awning; the restaurant is on the right. Valet parking is available.
