Zin Restaurant and Wine Bar

We recently ate at Zin Restaurant & Wine Bar on the recommendation of the owners’ of Honor Mansion, where we were staying for a weekend getaway. Zin is a casual Sonoma restaurant that lives up to its name. About half of the wine selections on their extensive wine list are Zinfandel.

As lovers of Zinfandel, we eagerly looked over the wine list and selected a wine we were unfamiliar with.. The menu is designed so that most of the items are cooked to taste well paired with Zinfandel.

The staff was warm, friendly, and attentive throughout the meal. After sharing a salad of baby missed greens with maple pecans and pickled onions, Steve ordered Grilled “Certified Angus” Hanger Steak served with sherry creamed mushrooms, baby spinach, and Mom’s Potato Casserole. The flavors were awesome.

Zin uses the freshest ingredients and grow much of their seasonal produce in their own organic garden. I ordered Ginger & Soy Glazed Wild Pacific Salmon served with asparagus, fried rice with green curry sauce and crispy won ton. It was excellent.

The food was well prepared, high quality comfort food. It was attractively presented. The warm surroundings, great service, and fabulous food at Zin made for a delightful evening.

Next time we are in Healdsburg, we will definitely be visiting Zin Restaurant and Wine Bar. This Sonoma restaurant featuring fine American cuisine is one that we can enthusiastically recommend to others.
