Lake County Wineries

Discover Lake County Wineries and the fun of Clear Lake. Lake County is located in Northern California east of Mendocino County. Clear Lake, the largest natural lake in California, is located in this county.

The original Lake County vineyards were planted in the 1870s. In 1920s Prohibition brought an end to the vineyards. About 50 years ago growers began replanting vineyards in this fertile valley.

Clear Lake is now surrounded by vineyards with plans for many more to be planted in the future. People from all over California head to Clear Lake to go wine tasting at the wonderful wineries as well as to enjoy fishing, boating, swimming, and water sports.
