Bernardus Chardonnay is recognized as a world class wine full of fantastic flavors. The cool Monterey climate is ideal for growing grapes perfect for producing a top quality Chardonnay.
The winery is owned by Ben Pon, a former Netherlands race car driver. After his retirement from racing, he bought vineyards and a winery in the Cachagua region of the Carmel Valley. He has earned a reputation for producing premium award winning wines.
50% of their production is Chardonnay. Bernardus ferments 90% of their Chardonnay in French oak barrels. 10% of the Chardonnay is fermented in stainless steel tanks which add a hint of crisp fruit flavors to the blended Chardonnay.
Experience delightful aromas of ripe tropical fruits with hints of creme brulee with this outstanding Chardonnay. Savor rich flavors of green apple, pear, and exotic fruits that linger in a rich, creamy finish. This is a crisp Chardonnay with just a hint of toasted oak. This wine would pair well with chicken, shellfish, and other seafood. Drink now through 2011. Rated 90 by Wine Spectator.
